Our History

Wolverine Recycling Services, Inc. and its preceding companies and partners has been in business for over 50 years.  The early history of the business focused on the well established and numerous foundries, scrap yards and automobile companies in Michigan.  Ted Stevens began the development of the business to include a broad based approach to engineering systems to process the large amounts of scrap that were being generated in those days and pioneered the development of heavy duty car shredders, balers and pre-processing scrap machinery.

Beginning in the mid-70’s, the universal goals of conserving scarce resources became more strongly focused in Michigan and nationwide.

In response, the company broadened its target markets to include the marketing of equipment for the processing of scrap tires, paper and plastics (both consumer and industrial).

Tom Stevens joined the company in 1979 and has carried on the broader based mission of working in the environmental field to recycle heretofore scrap or waste products in general.
